‘Iran’ newspaper loses exclusive advertisement privilege

@T= TEHRAN – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has revoked the monopoly of the administration’s official newspaper ‘Iran’ on state companies’ advertisements, announced Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi on Sunday.
“Some media outlets called on the president to revoke the privilege, and the president verbally ordered the cancellation of the previous order,” Rahimi explained.
The administration had previously ordered the state companies and departments to put their advertisements only in the daily Iran.
Other newspapers criticized the move as unfair, saying they would lose a large part of their advertising revenues by the administration’s decision and this would result in their bankruptcy.
